UTC Broadband Workshop 2020 Virtual Event

Carpe Funding!  Learn how to Leverage New Federal and State Programs and Private Sources of Funding to Promote Utility Broadband.

Now that the FCC has issued final rules for a new $20.4 billion broadband funding program called the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund and with the USDA Rural Utilities Service starting Its second round of the Rural Development Broadband ReConnect Program that will offer over half a billion dollars for grants and low cost loans to deploy broadband in unserved areas — utilities have a big opportunity to access funding to provide broadband services.  In addition, many states and private institutions are offering millions of dollars in broadband funding, often in coordination with the federal funding that is being made available.

That’s why UTC is holding its Broadband Workshop, August 4 - 6, 2020 in a ivrtual format— to help utilities leverage these opportunities and to prepare for the RDOF auction that is expected in June 2020 and the ReConnect program that is getting underway already.  Utilities won more than $260 million in the 2018 CAFII auction; find out how utilities can position themselves for access to even greater funding that will be available next year.

The Broadband Workshop will feature speakers from the FCC, the USDA RUS, state broadband program officials, as well as representatives from CoBank and other private institutions providing guidance on how utilities can access broadband funding.  In addition, the Broadband Workshop will feature utilities that are deploying broadband and offering services, as well as leading experts from technology partners, attorneys and consultants on the latest business, regulatory and technical developments affecting broadband and utilities.  The educational program for the Broadband Workshop is developed by utilities and for utilities and is being brought to you by UTC — the only trade association representing the telecommunications and information technology interests of all types of electric, gas and water utilities and other critical infrastructure industries.
