Metro 8001 introduces the most compact, dense and cost effective Carrier Ethernet/MPLS 10GE service aggregation switch on the Carrier Ethernet market – one third the size and double the capacity of its closest competitor

Telco Systems, a BATM company (LSE: BVC, TASE: BATM) and developer of CE 2.0 multi-service Carrier Ethernet and MPLS edge and access solutions for mobile backhaul, business Ethernet services and cloud networking, today unveiled the T-Metro 8001 next generation 10GE service aggregation solution – a breakthrough in Carrier Ethernet and MPLS service delivery for service providers and mobile operators. The product boasts a 200GE capacity, offering double the capacity in one third the size of its closest competitor, making it the most compact, dense and cost effective 10GE service aggregation switch in the Carrier Ethernet market today.

With the evolution of mobile network technology to LTE and LTE Advanced, as well as the deployment of new cloud and business services, metro networks are now required to handle higher traffic, offer higher bandwidth to customers and support many more services, while retaining quality of experience (QoE). T-Metro 8001 offers the solution for these challenges while outperforming its competitors in size, density, service scalability, OAM, resiliency and assured SLAs.

[10G Ethernet Service Aggregation] “The T-Metro 8001 is designed for service providers who need the reliability of traditional SONET/SDH networks’ quality of service and the flexibility to deliver multiple services at 1/10GE port rates in a metro Ethernet environment,“ said Moshe Shimon, VP Product Management of Telco Systems. “In today’s economy, this product assures an exceptional level of experience for the end-user while optimizing the carrier resources.”

Telco Systems’ T-Metro 8001 delivers license-free MPLS and Ethernet in one platform to future-proof providers’ networks and reduce risks of transport technology selection. With twenty (20) ports of 1/10GE in a compact 1RU chassis, the T-Metro 8001 is the platform of choice to enable wide-scale Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE2.0) adoption, implementation, and service creation. With extensive, high scale, hardware-based OAM, including hardware-based Y.1731, RFC2544 and Y.1564, the product allows providers to offer real-time SLA measurement and assurance.

The T-Metro 8001 complements Telco Systems’ T-Marc demarcation line, T-Metro service aggregation line and cloud gateways, and EdgeGenie service management solution to empower service providers to deliver customer-valued services using innovative end-to-end networking solutions.
