Summary:

With the recent successful award of a Navy SPAWAR C2 MAC (MA IDIQ) contract to Walker & Associates, we have an immediate need for a Federal Navy/SE Region Account Manager who will be responsible for selling products and services to the US Navy with emphasis on SPAWAR Charleston, as well as Fed DoD/Civ customers in the south east region. This role will apply principles of solution selling: determine customer needs, propose appropriate product and service solutions, and manage the sales process through to close. The FAM will engage with Federal customers, systems integrators, partners and other participants in the Federal market.

Desirable Requirements:

  • >7 years selling technical solutions and services in the US Federal market, with particular emphasis on the Navy and SPAWAR, Fed accounts in the southeast geographic region
  • Live <50 miles from Charleston SC
  • Security clearance desirable

  • Funnel management and growth
  • Expense management within company guidelines
  • Forecasting as required meeting company standards and definitions

Planning & Execution Requirements

  • Annually, prepare and present an extensive Account Plan to management and extended team to garner support, resources, and commitment to the plan
  • Quarterly, prepare a QBR (Quarterly Bus Review) highlighting achievements for the prior quarter, goals and forecast for the upcoming quarter
  • Weekly, submit a monthly/quarterly forecast adhering to corporate standards and expectations.
  • Provide leadership and foster teamwork. Work closely with inside sales, marketing, logistics, finance, management and customers to highlight opportunities, address challenges, and grow the business.
  • Responsibility for selling Value Added Services (Installation, Integration, etc.)

  • Familiarity of Layer 2/ Layer 3 switching, core routing, and fiber optic networking
  • Extensive customer and industry Contacts
  • Be an impact player driving sales, margin and customer satisfaction
  • Prior value added reseller sales experience a plus
  • Presentation and negotiation skills required
  • Four-year degree preferred
